It is a fact that there is an increasing demand for oil and gas throughout the world. Focusing on this point, some argue that remote areas should be exploited to explore more sources of these. I think until an appropriate substitution of energy is found, this sort of exploitation fetches more advantages.

Unlike the past, fossil fuels now has an inseparable relation with man, and it is clear that he highly demands these products to make his life smooth and safe. His needs range from domestic use to major ventures like iron and steel processing. A shortage in the supply of these would definitely hit all areas of human activities adversely, and the consequences would be unimaginable.

In order to avoid such unfavorable situations and to maintain the pace of the current economic development, man has to exploit remote areas for unearthing these invaluable sources of energy. In other words, the existing reserves of oil and gas are depleting in an unprecedented way, which would question the existence of modern civilization. Scientific researches have found extensive sources of fossil fuels in the remote areas, which would satisfy the needs of humans for at least a century. Until the best alternative is found, exploiting such areas seems to benefit human life greatly.

There exists criticism in carrying out such exploitations, pointing the fact that it can imbalance the bio- diversity. This is true in case when explorations are carried out in environmentally sensitive areas like Antarctica or in oceans. Therefore, extensive studies should be carried out before starting exploiting such areas to minimize undesired outcomes if any.
