A comparison of weekly consumption of four non-vegetarian dishes by an average resident in a European country from 1979 to 2004 is illustrated in the given line graph.

It is apparent that chicken consumption climbed steadily during this period, whereas other dishes were less preferred.

In 1979, beef was the most chosen food when an average person consumed over 200 grams of beef per week. However, it slipped to around 175 grams in 1989 and by 2004, it fell to approximately 100 grams. Similarly, from nearly 150 grams in 1979, lamb consumption witnessed a gradual decline to just above 60 grams in 2004. Fish consumption also suffered a setback between the years, but less severe, and this was from around 60 grams to 50 grams.

As per the graph, only 150 grams of chicken was consumed by an average person in a week in this country. From its third position, it became the most preferred in just a decade and hit a record consumption of 250 grams by 2004.
