The given line graph illustrates the pattern of expenditure on research regarding renewable energy sources in four European countries from 1975 to 2000.

Overall, Swiss and Danes showed better interest in the research than the other two countries.

Of the four countries, most money was expended by the Swiss on the aforementioned research. Between 1975 and 1980, the spending of an average Swiss citizen on this area rose from nil to $2, whereas it was nil to $1 in case of the residents of other three countries. Since 1980, this spending grew consistently among the Swiss, and by 2000, an average Swiss citizen disbursed $5 on this research.

When analysing the spending of Danes, it hovered around $1 from 1980 till 1990. Then after, the expenditure climbed significantly to reach $3.5 in 2000. In case of the spending pattern of Spanish and the UK citizens on this particular study, fluctuations were visible till the end of the period, and  their fund allocation in this sector did not go visibly over $1.1.By 2000, an average Spanish citizen was ready to spend $0.6. However, in the UK, it was just $0.2 per person.
