Without a ray of doubt, one can say that the internet has transformed the lives of humans in the recent decades. As most inventions have some negative sides, internet too has some drawbacks, but I believe no one can say that this invention is futile because of its incomparable benefits.

The key reason why I have no option to disagree to the statement is because of the exceptional dependence of people on the internet, ‘the invisible God of modern man’. There were a lot of landmark inventions in the post-industrialised era, like telephone, TV and airplanes, but none of these has touched the lives of humans as deeply as internet did. It assists humans in carrying out their day to day activities smoothly, whether it is social, economic, personal or educational.

Another reason why I see it has become an integral one is because of the faster pace of development the human race has achieved since its invention. To be clearer, within a period of few decades, man has seen tremendous progress, which he would have attained only after several centuries without internet. The combined research on the vaccine against the pandemic: Covid-19 would not have reached its goal within a year with the absence of the internet.

On the other hand, critics point at instances of some social unrest, addiction and some issues of cyber security. However, I feel the biggest concern is none other than the over-dependence. As Artificial Intelligence is emerging with full pace, humans are tend to become totally dependent on the internet, which would make them its virtual slaves.

To conclude, though there are some serious concerns which would have a long-lasting impact on humans in future, at present, if we analyse, the advantages of internet far outweigh its disadvantages.
