Transformation of a town after the completion of construction of a hydroelectric power dam in 2010 is illustrated in the given maps.

Overall, the riverbank town which was more or less like a village had changed tremendously after the construction of dam.

Before the construction in 1990, the town was bisected by a river which flowed from north to south. Towards the west of the river, there was an ancient structure. Mountains and forests were also there with some rare plants and animals. Towards the east of the river, there were some villages and an irrigated farmland.

After the completion of the dam, in 2010, the flow of the river was interrupted and an artificial lake was formed at the north of the town, which facilitated boating and fish breeding. The ancient structure was demolished, and the farmland was occupied by the lake. Forests were cleared, and hence the wildlife disappeared. A large hotel was constructed towards the southeast of the lake, and the villages were relocated towards the extreme south of the river bank. Large engineering structures are also seen on either sides of the river, which supplied power to other areas.
