The charts critically analyse the major reasons of movement of people in and out of the UK in 2007.

Overall, it is clear that career perspectives persuaded more people to move in and out of the UK in the given year when compared to other factors.

As per the charts, most people migrated in and out of the UK in search of a career. Of the 42% who came inside the country, 30% had definite jobs. On the other side, of the 51% who emigrated for jobs, 29% had secured a job. The country had issued a significant proportion of student visas in the given year, and this accounted for just over a quarter of the total immigrants. However, in the same year, just 4% students went out of the UK for studies.

When nearly a sixth of the total immigrants (15%) came to join their families, friends or relatives, the proportion of emigrants who had the same intension was 13. It is also noted that the share of those immigrants who had other reasons for migration was 11%, whereas 14% of emigrants had similar reasons.
