MODEL ANSWER:

Information regarding the prominent reasons behind the movement of people to and from the UK in 2007 is depicted in the given pie charts.

At a glance, it is clear that the pivotal reason for the movement in to or out of the UK was related to work in the given year, and specifically this was to assume a definite job.

As per the first chart, over two-fifth of the total migration was work- related, and of this exactly 30% came to take up definite jobs. A considerable proportion of student inflow was also there, and this was just over a quarter. Almost 15% migrated to join their family and 11% came for other reasons. A mere 6% did not state their purpose of entry.

The main reason of emigration was also work-related (just over a half of the total), but here, more job seekers went out for seeking jobs which are not definite. This was almost 10% more than those who came in for the same purpose. Almost a fifth had not stated their reason for emigration, while 13% went out to join their family.
