The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.

Information on the percentage of consumer spending of nationalities of five different countries on three different areas in 2002 is depicted in the given table.

Overall, it is clear that the Turks spent the highest in the group and most spending by all the nationalities was on the first category: food, drinks and tobacco.

As per the table, the highest spending was done by the Turks except in case of the second category: clothing and footwear.  Out of the total spending, 32.14% of the Turks’ spending was on first category, which was just over 3% than the spending of Irish. The Turks also stood first in case of spending on the third category: leisure and education. They spent 4.35% on this category, which was just over 2% than that of the Irish.  The spending rate of other nationalities(Italy, Spain and Sweden) on the first category was between 15 and 19, and on the third category was between 1.98 and 3.20.

It is to be noted that the Italians spent the most on the second category. This was 9% out of their total spending. The share of spending by residents of other nations ranged from 5.40% to 6.63%.
