The table below shows the worldwide market share of the notebook computer market for manufacturers in the years 2006 and 2007. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given table depicts the global market share of notebook computer manufacturers between the years 2006 and 2007.

At a glance, HP and Dell held the major share in both the years and could increase their respective market shares. 

As per the table, HP remained at the top as the obvious market leader in 2007, increasing its share by 2.6% from 31.4% in 2006. Its nearest competitors were Dell and Acer in both the years. When Dell could expand its market share by 3.6% in 2007 from 16.6% in 2006, Acer lost nearly a per cent of its share (11.6 to 10.7%). 

The next three positions were occupied by Toshiba, Lenovo and Fujitsu-Siemens in 2006. Toshiba could gain 7.3% market share from 6.2% in 2006, whereas, the other two companies suffered a setback. Of the two, Fujitsu-Siemens lost more than half of its share (from 4.8% to 2.3%), whilst Lenovo’s share slipped by 0.4%. The collective share of other companies fell from 22.8% in 2006 to 19.3% in 2007.
