Information on the global market share of notebook computer manufacturers in 2007 when compared to 2006 is depicted in the given table.

At a glance, the major share was concentrated with three specific manufactures in both years, with HP at the top.

As per the table, HP the obvious market leader increased its share by 2.6% in 2007 from 31.4%. This was greater than the combined shares of its next major competitors: Dell and Toshiba (22.8% and 27.5% in respective years). When Dell recorded a 20.2% share in the market in 2007, it was just 7.3 for Toshiba and their growth rates were 3.6 and 1.1 respectively.

By contrast, Fujitsu-Siemens was the biggest loser, when it lost 2.5% share when compared to the previous year (4.8%). Acer and Lenovo too suffered loss, but less severe (0.9 and 0.4% respectively). However, Acer could place itself third among its competitors in both years, below HP and Dell.

In case of other notebook manufacturers, the proportion of loss in the market share was 3.5 from 22.8.
