MODEL ANSWER:

It is often argued that the traditional approach to life and behaviour hardly helps the modern society. Although it is true in most circumstances, I cannot deny that it still has some relevance in the life of the newer generation.

One of the major reasons why I think the orthodox way of thoughts have negligible benefits to humans is that they can be no longer applicable in the present situation. To be precise, the way which people lived in the past was entirely different from the way which modern man lives. For example, they used to sleep early at night after having their dinner. Men used to work outside and women used to look after the children and household chores. However, the life today is much faster and complex that it hardly allows people to do the same. Both the habits and responsibilities of people have changed in an unimaginable manner.

Another reason behind my agreement to the statement is that many of the ancient ideas had no scientific bases, and instead those were based on some superstitions or religious beliefs. There were many such practices and rituals across the globe, which later proved to be uncivilised and inhumane. Denying females education and marrying them at a younger age were common even in the last century.

I need to admit that there are some traditional ideas which are much essentially taught to the younger generation for moulding a good future. Respecting the nature, helping each other and feeling empathetic to the suffering people are some of such characteristics.

To conclude, it is clear that traditional idea of older people towards life and behaviour has less significance in this ultra-modern society. However, one cannot completely underestimate that.
